Book Cover Designs Wanted

2292408253_c924f0b0e9_oCan you design a better book jacket/cover than this?

If so, Tara Hunt would love your help.

There really are no rules. Just take the words that are there and make the thing look better.

Post a link to your design in her Flickr comments for this image and she'll check them out.

If you don't have a blog, web site, Flickr account, etc. to post your design to, just create a drop for it and put that URL in the comments section.

Also, please spread the word to others if you can.

I didn't get a deadline from her, but I'm sure it's something that's needed sooner than later.

Any help you can give her is greatly appreciated.

What's up with the title? That might go along way to helping a designer out.

Christopher - Good question. If you're referring to Whuffie, look here:

If you're looking for something else, I would leave a comment on her Flickr comments and I bet she'll respond to you.

Thanks for the definition. I did not know that. I thought it was some sort of mispronunciation of "whiffle." Or had something to do with missing (or failing) and how that contributes to innovation or connections. Glad I asked!

Left a link there, and I'll just quickly leave one here in case she comes this way. Cheers ;-)

Speaking of design, nice new blog layout...

Ryan - I'm sure Tara appreciates your help. Thanks for leaving a note here too.

Clay - Thanks! Still playing with the idea of changing up the banner but haven't done anything yet that I like more than this one.

oh dear--is her book based on the story in that wiki link? i think bourdieu, rather than that kak, would have helped. i like the "five keys" part of the title--should we all collectively start on #6-10, or leave that to her?

thanks for the thoughts, Manny. Bourdieu's ideas would certainly make for some interesting conversation in relation to social networks and online communities.

my suspicion is that Tara is having fun with the idea of Wuffie and using it to help explain how you can't buy your way to success with communities - it's all reputation and action based.

but those are just my guesses. i've not read her book yet. just trying to help her get a cover design she's more happy with. but i'm sure she'd love to hear your thoughts on her Flickr post.

as for six through 10... maybe she's planning a sequel already? hmmm... good question!
