The first Denver Coffee Morning came and went but not without some thought-provoking discussions. For our own individual reasons, Sean and I have not been able to connect on keeping them going. This is no longer the case.
It's time for the second edition. We're hosting this one downtown so that more of you might be willing to join us. Why should you? Well, other than having coffee with people who share the same interests as you and lively, ranging conversation topics, this one will be your chance to influence the future day, time and location for the regular/recurring version.
So put it on your calendar now and get ready for some great conversation to start your Friday morning. And spread the word. The more the merrier. For more on what these are about, visit my first post for a few links that explain them.
When: Friday, March 23, 2007, 7 a.m. - ???
Where: Common Grounds (Downtown - Corner of 17th & Wazee)
What: Interesting discussions among likeminded folks, coffee or other morning beverage of your choice
Why: For fun, making new friends/contacts, starting off your Friday in good form.
If you've got any questions, just leave them in the comments below and I'll get back to you. Hope you can join us. We're looking forward to seeing some friendly new faces.

In case you missed the first ever Denver Coffee Morning this morning, here's a rehash of some of the topics that came up after brief hello's, introductions and general getting to know each other conversations.
To get things started a little discussion of the Super Bowl ads general lack of superbness. A good discussion on the way many U.S. companies try to back their way into strategies and initiatives instead of having them built in at the core of the company's mission/brand. Specifically when it comes to sustainability/green/eco-friendly stuff. (i.e. Making your plastic bottles smaller may allow you to claim you're doing something better for the environment by cutting down the amount of plastic/chemicals you use per package but it's all just smoke and mirrors - you're really not doing anything better for the enviroment.) How far behind the U.S. is when it comes to being more green-conscious. A few advertising/marketing books including Perfect Pitch. Russell's blog. His interview with Jon Steel. Richard's post that sparked quite a debate. And I'm sure a few other things that I'm not recalling at this point.
Stay posted for the details on the next one. Should be in a week or two. Hope you can make it.

Sean and I have been talking about getting a Denver coffee morning/likemind started since late November. Well, it's finally here. This Thursday at Mojo starting at 7:00 a.m. Sean's got some location information posted here. Those of you who want to show up can help us decide a time and location for the next one. And maybe a more permanent solution.
Russell has a great post about the "rules" of coffee morngings here. You don't have to be a planner. You don't have to be in advertising. You just need to be interested in "things" and be interested in talking about them.
Hope you can make it.
